The two-term Eden Prairie legislator becomes the latest candidate to jump into the race.

State Sen. David Hann on Thursday became the second Republican in two days to announce their candidacy for governor in 2010.
Hann, a 57-year-old business consultant, was flanked by family members as he made his announcement, saying that state policies had driven away business and that Minnesota needed to be restored "to a position of economic vitality."
The two-term Eden Prairie legislator, who serves on two education committees, said he would make education reform a centerpiece of his campaign and push for more local control of school decisions.

A state senator from the western metro wants to be the next governor.
Sen. David Hann, R-Eden Prairie, announced his candidacy today (Thursday, July 16) to replace Gov. Tim Pawlenty in 2011.
Flanked by families and supporters at a Capitol press conference, Hann, 57, spoke of making Minnesota into a state of unlimited opportunity.
“We can do better in Minnesota,” said Hann.
